not God's best!

i was on the phone with my best friend tonight and this chick is absolutely hilarious! she said something in the course of our "chit-chat-doing-the-catch-up" that rocked my world. ahhhhhhh, oh my goodness, i'm cracking up, this girl told me that she has made a choice to re-label a number in her phone for a certain individual...and do you know what she re-named her caller ID for his number? NOT GOD'S BEST!!! i am so through, or as tyler perry's madea would say, "i'm thew, i'm thew!"

this one, gets my hot crockpot of mess and crazy award for the week. "not God's best"...oh, i'mma hafta use that one, at some point in my life. seeing that vivid reminder as a phone rings and the caller ID lights up would definitely get the point across. 30 rock's liz lemon has the right words for a buster who gets the caller ID re-label: ladies, it's time to "shut it down." oh my goodness.

the lessons of david: praying for my brothers in the faith

it's interesting that the Bible was written for some powerful reasons, the most important - revealing the Creator, the one true and living God to this world and showing his heart and love for his people.

it's also interesting that the Bible was written for simple reasons, like showing us the lives of real people, actual men and women who walked the face of this earth, people who loved, lived, faught, killed, made some serious mistakes and at the same time experienced the forgiveness and healing that God offers those who trust in him.

i think about one of the most well-known men of the Bible, DAVID. he was a man known as one who was after God's own heart. he loved the Lord deeply, served him faithfully, led the people of Israel with a shepherd's passion and great love, and with the fierce heart of a gansta warrior. 1 and 2 samuel, along with the books of kings and chronicles tell his story well in the old testament of the Bible.

but he also failed in his relationship with God. even though he was a man after God's own heart. he allowed his heart to snare him into lust, willingly being led by it into adultery, and then enticed even further to cover his sin by taking the life of another human being.

david failed morally. he failed his people, his soldiers, his family, and he failed God.

cross movement records' J.R. shares why he's an ex-abortionist...

i settled into my first november saturday morning, with plans to engage in some ministry partnership development (it's still gon' happen, i believe it!), as well as plans to go through my small group Bible study lessons on health and nutrition.

i figured a great way to encourage my heart and spirit would be listening to some great video messages from the passion 4 Christ movement. this is a movement of Christ-followers out in los angeles throwing it down hard and gansta for Jesus.

they are real, incredibly relevant and are using a slew of campaigns, the most recent, the "ex-abortionist" campaign to speak to real issues people are facing in the world and bring an intersection of God's love and forgiveness through the gospel of Jesus Christ to these issues and to the hearts of hurting people.

i came across a powerful testimony today, by one of my favorite urban gospel r&b singers, j.r. he's one of the recording artists with cross movement records and has been bringing major hits and soulful tunes over the last several years.

j.r. is talented. j.r. is a man after God's own heart. j.r. is also an ex-abortionist. his story is a powerful one. i believe you'd be blessed to hear it.

i painted...can somebody tell me what it is?

well, hello there.

i had some time on october 31 and november 1 to paint with a couple of my canvases and some of my acrylic paints. i like what i came up with, but for one piece i don't quite know what it is.

i need to take a photo and upload it with this blog post, so stay tuned. my friend melody g. told me it looked like city scapes. what's interesting is that when i originally set out to paint it, i was going for a flower. oh lord Jesus.

photo will be coming soon...let me know what you think it is.
